Skylon, London

Dais Contemporary collaborated with Conran and Partners and D&D London commissioning a collection of eight miniature sculptures for the Skylon Restaurant in the South Bank Centre, London. The sculptures were made by by Royal College of Art graduate Sun Lah and were inspired by her larger body of work titled 'London Symphony'. This series was part of Lah's final graduation show at the Royal College of Art and was made to reflect the rich diversity of characters that one can find resident in and visiting the City of London.

Each of the sculptures were made bespoke for the restaurant, being carved out of pine wood and painted with pastel paints. The group of eight were conceived by the artist to reference character types that 'one might find when walking through a crowd on the South Bank in London'.

The artworks are now part of D&D London's permanent art collection.
